123 Memorial Drive:
Groundwater Remediation Strategy

In order to clean the site up, the first step was to removed the buildings and pavement to allow for easy access to contaminated areas. After these were removed, then all of the underground storage tanks were pumped empty and removed from the ground along with the surrounding contaminated soil. Approximately 160 tons of contaminated soil was removed and transported to disposal facility.

Once the tanks and contaminated soil was removed, a groundwater remediation system was installed to address petroleum contamination in the groundwater. Eight new compliance monitoring wells were also installed around the site to monitor the groundwater remediation.
