123 Memorial Drive: Phase II Assessment Results

During the site assessment, eight sample locations were selected on the site to assess the impacts from the underground storage tanks, hydraulic lift reservoir, and auto repair activities. Soil and groundwater samples were collected and analyzed for gasoline and other petroleum contaminants, including metals that may be found in waste oil.

Of the soil and groundwater samples collected and analyzed only one soil location had gasoline constituents above the Georgia Soil Thresholds, sample location123MD-2. There were two soil locations where Arsenic was found above the Regional Screening Level but below the Georgia HSRA Notification Concentration (NC). Two groundwater locations had gasoline constituents above Drinking water standards, sample locations 123MD-2 and 123MD-3. See the Sub-surface Soil Contamination and Groundwater Contamination pages for site drawings showing sample locations and contaminant concentrations.

The assessment revealed the soil and groundwater contamination was primarily restricted to the area around the underground storage tanks. See the Elevation view page to view the general area of where the contamination was found.
