Subsurface samples collected at the subject site revealed petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon impacts to the groundwater from on-site activities and from activities at an adjacent establishment. Site remediation activities were completed in accordance with the Georgia Rules for Underground Storage Tank Management (Chapter 391-3-15) and the Georgia Rules for Hazardous Site Response (Chapter 391-3-19). One objective of the cleanup is making the Brownfield property more attractive to developers and businesses by addressing and eliminating contamination concerns. Cleanup activities involved the removing and disposing of underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated piping; removing contaminated surface and subsurface soils; and monitoring groundwater conditions.
